Who operates this service

TaskNeighbor operates this local matching website. Contact the founder at taskneighbor@gmail.com for privacy questions, account access, corrections, or deletion requests.

Information we use

We use your account email, display name, confirmation status, city and ZIP code, business details, services, preferences, requests, photos, offers, matches, messages, cancellations, reviews, reports, and verification submissions to run TaskNeighbor. Our authentication provider manages passwords and account confirmation. We record membership status and billing identifiers; Stripe handles payment details for optional pro subscriptions. TaskNeighbor does not receive full card numbers or process payments for service work.

Hosting and service providers process technical information such as IP addresses, request logs, device/browser information, and security events needed to deliver and protect the website. We count account activity, requests, responses, matches, completions, memberships, and email queue outcomes to understand how the Cherokee County launch is working. These dashboard totals are for the founder. We do not install advertising trackers or sell your personal information.

Who can see what

Signed-in neighbors can view profile details, published reviews, and open request descriptions, photos, city, ZIP code, dates, and budgets. Do not put a full home address, phone number, or sensitive details in a public request or photo. Offers are visible to their sender and the homeowner. A matched conversation is available to its two participants through the app. TaskNeighbor may access stored information when necessary to operate the service, investigate a reported problem, comply with law, or protect users.

Verification files are available through the app only to the applicant and the founder reviewing the request. A verification badge shares the type of check, jurisdiction, authority, and expiry, not the uploaded file. Reports and moderation notes are restricted to administration; they are not publicly displayed.

Service providers

Netlify provides hosting, authentication, databases, and file storage. Resend delivers opted-in activity emails. Stripe processes optional membership subscriptions and billing management. These providers process the information needed to provide their services, including outside your state or country. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to investigate fraud or protect someone’s safety. We do not provide your data to unrelated businesses for their marketing.

Email choices and browser storage

Account confirmation and password recovery emails are part of account security. Match, cancellation, unread-message, and new-request emails are optional. Change them in Profile & preferences → Notifications. New-request alerts use the services saved in your pro profile and your confirmation that you serve Cherokee County. We do not currently send text messages. We do not include private message text or exact addresses in activity emails.

Authentication cookies and browser storage keep you signed in and support the interface. Our activity email sender has open and click tracking disabled. Your email provider may still apply its own security checks.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and service records while needed to run your account, maintain accurate review and dispute records, meet billing obligations, and protect against abuse. Removing a completed or canceled request from your list hides it for you; it does not erase the other participant’s record. Ask us to review an account or data deletion request using the contact details below. We may verify that you control the account and retain records that remain necessary for legal, billing, or security reasons.

Unsubmitted verification files expire after 24 hours and submitted files after one year. Deletion is handled by scheduled cleanup. Application recovery copies may retain deleted information for up to 30 additional days; copies are restricted to administrators. Recovery does not override a recorded deletion request. Avoid uploading unrelated personal information.

Your requests and questions

You can update your profile and notification preferences in the app. To request access, correction, deletion, or help with a privacy issue, use Contact TaskNeighbor or email taskneighbor@gmail.com from your account email. Do not send passwords or card details. We will confirm what can be done and any records that need to be retained. TaskNeighbor is intended for adults 18 and older; contact us if you believe a child’s information was submitted.
