Using TaskNeighbor

TaskNeighbor connects adults who need services with independent service businesses. Our initial service area is Cherokee County, Georgia. You must be at least 18, provide accurate information, and have authority to request work at the property or on the vehicle involved. Businesses must have authority to act for their business. Keep your account credentials private and tell us promptly if your account is compromised.

Your service agreement

The homeowner and pro are responsible for agreeing the scope, timing, price, materials, changes, cancellations, and payment method. An Instant Match accepts the posted terms; in Get offers, the homeowner chooses an offer. Confirm the final details in your private conversation before work begins. For hourly work, agree an estimate and any additional hours before doing extra work. TaskNeighbor does not employ the pros or perform their services.

Service payments happen directly

Arrange and pay for service work directly with your pro. TaskNeighbor does not collect or hold service payments, add a percentage fee to jobs, provide escrow, or guarantee refunds for service work. Agree any deposits and service refund terms directly before paying. A completed request records the homeowner’s confirmation; it is not proof of payment. Contact the other party about a service dispute and report unsafe behavior to TaskNeighbor.

Free use and optional memberships

Homeowners request services and match for free. Pros can use the Free plan or choose Plus at $2 per month or Premium at $4 per month. The plan comparison explains response allowances and saved searches. Paid plans renew monthly until canceled. Review and accept the price and renewal terms before checkout. Manage or cancel renewal from the Plans page. Changes to future pricing will be communicated before they apply; we will not silently charge an increased price. See the membership terms for billing and refund details. Paying for a plan does not guarantee work or confer a verification badge.

Qualifications and safety

Pros are responsible for the licenses, insurance, permits, taxes, qualifications, and safe practices required for their work. Homeowners should confirm the requirements relevant to their project. A badge means only the specific check described on the profile and Trust & reviews page. Email confirmation is not an identity check. Business checks do not include a criminal background check, insurance verification, or a guarantee of workmanship.

TaskNeighbor is not an emergency dispatch service. Do not rely on it for urgent roadside danger, gas leaks, electrical hazards, or other emergencies. Contact emergency services when there is immediate danger.

Respectful, accurate posts and reviews

Do not post unlawful work, scams, harassment, threats, discriminatory content, impersonation, someone else’s private information, or misleading claims. Only upload material you have the right to share. Do not upload government IDs, Social Security numbers, bank information, or unrelated personal records. Share exact addresses privately after a match. You permit TaskNeighbor to store and display your content as needed to operate the service; you retain ownership of it.

Reviews must describe a real experience with your matched neighbor. Honest negative feedback is allowed. We may remove content for a documented policy violation, but not merely because it is negative. Do not buy or trade favorable ratings.

Cancellations, reports, and account controls

You can cancel an open request as the homeowner; either matched party can cancel a matched request. Notify the other party about any arrangements already made. Completed or canceled requests can be removed from your own list without erasing the other party’s record. Report a request or account from its details or contact us. Reports are reviewed manually, and we cannot promise immediate monitoring.

We may edit or remove posts and pause accounts to investigate abuse or protect the service. You can appeal by contacting us. Pausing an account does not automatically cancel a paid membership; billing management and cancellation remain available on the Plans page.

Availability and your rights

TaskNeighbor is an early local service. We cannot promise continuous availability, a match, a particular response time, or a service outcome. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. We may update these terms; material changes will be identified before they take effect.
